Theft of Electric Vehicle Charging Cables |
||
|
Residents, please be aware that there has been a recent trend of Electric Car Charging Cables being cut and stolen from both domestic and commercial premises in the area. These cables are being targeted for their copper content and resale value as scrap. Officers from Broxtowe Police Station, Strelley Road, Nottingham have had two Commercial incidents brought to their attention on Trowell Road and Lambourne Drive, Nottingham whereby every cable on site had been cut and stolen. Further to this a residential incident was recorded on Aspley Lane with witnesses coming forward and stating that a group of youths dressed in black, wearing balaclavas for disguise had attempted to take a charging lead from a vehicle whilst it was on charge. We urge everyone to remain vigilant and actively report any suspicious activity via 101 (non-emergency) or 999 (emergency, suspects are still on-scene and a crime is in progress), whilst bearing this in mind as we are keen to identify offenders.
